Soggy
Context
Soggy House was an artist collaborative that hosted experiential events in Portland, Oregon. Their vision was to build a space where local creatives could meet and make music and art together. I was tasked with redefining their branding by proposing new creative directions, graphics, and merchandise. As a lover of all things Oregon & art, I was excited to embark of this project.
Process
I gathered insights from the Soggy House creators to get a sense for their initial assets, social media posts, and potential brand directions. Then, I researched and curated mood boards for each of my 4 directions. Following this, I designed all of my creative assets in Adobe softwares and Maxon Cinema 4D.
Challenges
1. Integrating elements of an existing brand into several different creative directions.
2. Identifying unique ways to visualize and propose these visuals to stakeholders.

The Starting Point
Direction 1
This direction envisions Soggy House as a living, breathing creative space—where music, nature, and time itself intertwine. By fusing mid-century modern aesthetics with moss-covered equipment and organic textures, it captures the beauty of creative overgrowth. Positioned within Portland’s experimental art scene, it symbolizes expression taking root and thriving in unexpected ways. The brand voice here is mystical yet grounded, like a storyteller reflecting on a dream just real enough to believe in.
Direction 2
In a world where creation is rebirth, this direction places Soggy House at the intersection of decay and innovation. Inspired by post-apocalyptic beauty, it envisions a space where the remnants of the past fuel a raw, unfiltered renaissance. The aesthetic --- futuristic yet worn, illuminated yet dark --- reflects the underground nature of Portland’s late-night events. Its voice is bold and poetic, embracing chance and opportunity as the foundation for something greater.
Direction 3
Soggy House isn’t just a space --- it’s a portal to new creative dimensions. This direction amplifies the otherworldly essence of artistic exploration, positioning Soggy as a place where boundaries dissolve and new ideas take form. Through silhouettes stepping into unknown realms and glowing light as a metaphor for inspiration, it connects to Portland’s avant-garde art scene. The brand voice is ethereal and inviting, drawing artists towards its core.
Direction 4
Creativity thrives when it feels real, raw, and unfiltered --- just like a messy sketchbook or a bedroom wall covered in ideas. This direction leans into the DIY ethos of Soggy House, where collaboration feels intimate and accessible. Dappled with torn paper, doodles, and playful stickers, it connects to Portland’s hands-on art culture, positioning Soggy as a hub for those who create for the love of it. The brand voice here is warm, inviting, and slightly chaotic, embracing imperfection as a mark of authenticity.
Working through this redirect for Soggy House deepened my skills in expanding and refreshing brands. I learned to deliver adaptable, cohesive solutions while working with complex creative elements such as product mockups, 3D renders, and graphics. I truly enjoyed designing for them due to my deep connections to creativity, art, and the natural world.
