Liminal
Context
Liminal was an exploration focused on the liminal space -- a transitional state experienced between where someone has been and where they're going. I aimed to visually capture its essence through 2D and 3D compositions.
Process
I started by researching common depictions of liminal spaces, which felt constrained. I explored alternative visual styles and themes, focusing on concepts like opportunity, mystery, and transformation. This led to the creation of 8 sets of 3 images each. I refined and developed each set to capture the nuanced essence of liminal spaces through my personal perspective.
Challenges
1. Transforming the subjective and metaphorical concept of liminal spaces into visual designs
2. Countering typical depictions of claustrophobic hallways or tunnels by integrating themes of opportunity, mystery, and transformation across time and space

The Outcome
Liminal taught me how to translate abstract concepts into impactful visuals. It highlighted the value of experimenting with styles to convey complex ideas, enhancing my skills in creative exploration and visual storytelling.
